A great number of electricity users are starting to notice the increasing costs of keeping their home powered throughout the year. Many are considering make the switch from their fluorescent lighting to LED replacement bulbs that tout lower energy costs yielded over time. But is this really the truth? The short answer is yes. Studies have conclusively shown the benefits of LED lighting.
Perhaps you pay anywhere between sixty and one hundred dollars a month for your electricity. Obviously much of that power usage can be attributed to television and computer use, among other appliances like your refrigerator or electric stove. But a great deal of that wattage comes from keeping lights on all through the night. Just think about how much you use even during the day.
So if you take that sixty or one hundred dollars, assume that at least thirty of it is because of lighting in your home. Given a year, your fluorescent bulbs are costing you over three hundred and fifty dollars annually. That may seem reasonable, but over the cost of five years it would be nearly two thousand dollars. You can probably think of a better way to spend two grand.
By switching to LED bulbs, you will see that amount slowly start to diminish. The first month of using the technology might end up costing you only twenty five dollars as opposed to thirty. That may seem like a marginal amount until after a couple years, when you are suddenly netting over one hundred dollars in savings. As time goes on, you will have even more money in your pocket.
